DANVILLE — A zipline down Vermilion Street downtown and karaoke will be some of the fun activities at May’s First Fridays event.
First Fridays’ Sports & Brews is returning for its third year.
The themed night will be in Downtown Danville from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday for an evening filled with food and fun activities, organizers said.
The event will feature exciting outdoor activities, such as ziplining through Downtown Danville for $5.
“We have karaoke this year which should be really fun on the Temple Plaza stage,” said Danville Community Relations Administrator Ashton Greer.
People also are excited about the zipline that will spread down Vermilion Street, she said.
“You can actually ride a zipline in downtown Danville at Sports & Brews,” Greer said.
Several local establishments will offer beer specials, and food options will be available from Hangry, Motley Food, Low Life Kitchen, and Up In Smoke food trucks.
Fun activities will span two entire blocks, including a rock wall, pop-a-shot, jumbo cup pong, and bounce houses.
Join Downtown Danville Inc. at the dunk tank, where profits go toward supporting downtown businesses, or join in on karaoke fun at Temple Plaza.
Organizers say don’t miss the opportunity to play tennis or pickleball with the Danville Tennis Center or brush up your soccer skills with the Danville Area Soccer Association.

Also, as part of First Friday is the Danville Public Library’s Taylor Swift Eras Tour Experience.
The Eras Tour will come to life in the Danville Public Library, 319 N. Vermilion St. What is a sporting event without the pop star’s performance? The experience is for all ages from 5–8 p.m. Friday.
First Fridays’ organizers thank the event sponsors who continue to invest in the community and make these family-friendly events possible.
For the safety of those attending, some downtown roads will be closed from 2-9:45 p.m. Friday.
Vermilion Street will be barricaded from Harrison Street to Main Street, and North Street will be barricaded from either side of Vermilion Street to the closest alleys.
