A new business is looking to set up along Lockport Street in Youngstown.
The village board approved selling the building located at 120 Lockport St. to Happy Tails of Niagara LLC for $172,000.
A formal contract has yet to be signed as of Tuesday.
The village originally acquired the site this past July for $150,000, which included the Youngstown water tower located behind the building. It was previously home to the medical offices of Rama Bojedla M.D.
Village attorney Tom Caserta said during the meeting that when an initial request for proposal was put forth for the property, the village did not get any proper proposals. The proposal from Happy Tails was the only one they would end up receiving.
The water tower will remain Youngstown property, with the village collecting tower easement revenue from it.
