VALDOSTA — The City of Valdosta invites the public to attend the final presentation of GeorgiaForward’s Young GameChangers program on Thursday, Oct. 10, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Rainwater Conference Center, 1 Meeting Place in Valdosta. This event is free and open to all community members.
The Young GameChangers program, facilitated by the Georgia Municipal Association in partnership with GeorgiaForward, has gathered 45 of Georgia’s brightest young professionals to address some of Valdosta’s key challenges, according to a press release from the city. Known for its innovative approach, the program helps generate fresh, actionable solutions for host communities across the state.
Valdosta presented its most pressing challenges to the Young GameChangers, and participants responded by developing “big idea” proposals. These proposals include clear timelines, potential funding sources, and partner organizations to help ensure their successful implementation.
Mayor Scott James Matheson praised the program’s impact on the community, stating, “We are thrilled to see the culmination of the Young GameChangers program in Valdosta. These young leaders have put forward innovative ideas that will shape a vibrant future for our city.”
Sadie Krawczyk, managing director of GeorgiaForward, added, “The dedication and ingenuity of these young professionals is inspiring. We look forward to seeing how their recommendations will create a lasting, positive impact in Valdosta.”
The program, which began in late April, has seen participants engage with the Valdosta community through research and visits to key development sites. Their final proposals, presented at the October event, will showcase solutions designed to drive growth and success in the city.
