MANKATO — A World War II C47 plane made an emergency landing at the Mankato Airport Sunday evening, but it wasn’t a serious incident.
Shortly before 6 p.m. Mankato fire and other first responders went to the airport after a report of a plane coming in with one engine having problems and possibly on fire.
On-duty Ffire department Cpt. Chris Hruby said that when they arrived the plane was parked and the crew was up on a ladder working on the engine. He said the crew reported everything was fine, but that they had called in because they weren’t sure how serious the engine issue was.
Hruby said there was no fire and no one was injured. The plane had come from Oregon and had seven or eight people on board. They were headed to the big Oshkosh Air Show in Wisconsin, which runs through this week.
