LAVALE — The Quad State Bodgers will hold a Woodturning Mini Symposium 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. June 21 at the Western Maryland Works Makerspace, 37 Lane Ave.
Participation time will be based on individual needs.
The free event will cover hands-on instruction in wood turning including for bowls, spinning tops, bottle stoppers, candle sticks, and tooth pick holders.
Turning sessions will be offered concurrently and participants may select the sessions they are most interested in.
People age 10 years or older are eligible to participate.
Guardians are required for children ages 10 to 16 years.
Participants must wear shoes that will protect their feet, not sandals or flip-flops.
The event is sanctioned by the American Association of Woodturners, and co-sponsored by the Quad State Bodgers and Allegany College of Maryland Western Maryland Works.
No prior registration is required.
Directions: Lane Avenue is located between the LaVale Post Office and Fratelli’s restaurant. WMW is at the end of Lane Avenue. The entrance is at the top of the steps.
