OAKLAND — An Oakland woman who tried to disarm two Garrett County sheriff’s deputies during her arrest on a drug charge last summer has been sentenced to 10 years in prison, Garrett County State’s Attorney Christian Mash said.
Taylor Marie Kisselovich, 31, pleaded guilty Jan. 22 to one count of possession with intent to distribute fentanyl and two counts of attempting to disarm a law officer.
Mash said Kisselovich had a backpack with 18 grams of fentanyl inside when deputies arrested her in June 2024 in the Gorman area. During her arrest and transport to the county detention center, she fought officers and attempted to remove firearms from their holsters, Mash said.
“This was a very difficult warrant apprehension, and it should serve as a reminder to us all that law enforcement personnel work under extreme pressure and must make split-second decisions,” Mash said. “In this instance, the police were able to prevent the further distribution of fentanyl in this county while preventing Ms. Kisselovich from harming herself or others.”
