A Georgia woman wanted on an active felony warrant in Baldwin County, GA, was arrested in Cumberland County Friday evening for speeding, according to a CCSO arrest report.
Brittany Allison Griffin, 36, Old Highway Circle, whose occupation on the arrest report is listed as “home caretaker,” was stopped June 6 around 7:20 p.m. on Milo Lemert (Miller Ave.) near Rock Quarry Rd.
CCSO Deputy Cpl. Brandon Griffin wrote in his report he observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed on Miller and turned on his radar unit to clock the driver traveling 61 mph in a 50 mph zone.
A glass pipe was seized during the stop and the driver admitted to smoking marijuana prior to the stop.
Griffin ran a check on the suspect and cleared Brittany Griffin (no relation) was wanted on a warrant from Baldwin County, GA, on a charge of intimidation, stalking or injury of an officer of the court.
Despite attempts to learn more information on the charge, Georgia court authorities could not provide any information concerning the warrant.
Monday, Griffin waived extradition back to Georgia and the local fugitive charge was dismissed.
