GRANTSVILLE — A Garrett County woman is accused of stealing more than $20,000 from a youth basketball organization.
Misty Dawn Rollman, 43, of Grantsville, allegedly stole $21,000 during the two years she served as president of the Northern Tri-County Basketball League.
Maryland State Police said she was charged Thursday with participating in a theft scheme from $1,500 to under $25,000 and embezzlement.
Police said Rollman had access to the organization’s bank accounts when she served as the group’s president from October 2022 to December 2024. She allegedly used the money for personal purchases.
Rollman paid back some of the money after being confronted by members of the organization’s board, police said. Investigators reportedly uncovered more theft while reviewing the organization’s bank documents and online shopping accounts held by Rollman.
