The 34th annual Macedonian Festival, a celebration of the rich heritage of Buffalo’s Macedonian community, is taking place this weekend.
The event continues on today and Sunday on the grounds of Sts. Cyril & Methody Macedonian Orthodox Church, 4785 Lake Ave., Blasdell. The festival will feature traditional Macedonian foods, ethnic desserts, live Macedonian music, and Macedonian Folk Dance performances.
Parishioners will guide guests through Macedonian cultural displays, their beautiful Orthodox Church, while serving ethnic foods such as Macedonian-style “open pit” roasted lamb, kebobs, shish-kebabs, chicken and stuffed cabbage rolls. Beer and wine tent will also feature Macedonian beer and wines.
To complete the Macedonian Festival experience, enjoy homemade baklava and many other Macedonian pastries, cookies and specialties.
The festival is open to the public, all are welcome. Parking is available on the church grounds. Hours are from noon to midnight on today and noon to 9 p.m. on Sunday.
