WINTHROP — A Winthrop man has been charged on 12 counts of child porn possession.
Michael Lee Doering, 71, was charged in Sibley County District Court following a narcotics-related search of his residence Aug. 19. Doering’s cellphone was seized for “narcotics-related purposes” by officers in the Sibley County Sheriff’s Office, according to the criminal complaint.
During the search of the phone, images of child pornography were found. Law enforcement tagged about 52 images that portrayed sexually explicit images of people that appear to be the age 16 or younger and 12 images that clearly depict children appearing to be younger than age 14, according to the complaint.
Law enforcement also found 87 images and several videos that clearly depicted humans performing various sex acts with animals. Doering admitted to having the beastiality images on his phone but denied knowing how the pornographic images of children got on the device.
