Here is a listing of some of the resources available to those who need a place to cool off and stay safe during the impending heat wave.
Fresh Start Hygiene Services
With the extreme heat expected this week, Fresh Start Hygiene Services is open to welcome anyone experiencing homelessness who needs a safe place to cool down.
Guests are welcome to take a cold shower, do their laundry, cool off indoors, watch TV and relax, charge their phone and enjoy food and drinks.
The Lawrence location is at 33 Water St. Monday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Tuesday and Thursday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The Haverhill location is at 194 Winter St. Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The Center at 155 Haverhill St. will be open as a cooling center on Wednesday and Thursday from 8 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Anyone who needs assistance can call The Center at 978-620-3550.
Residents are advised to:
Drink plenty of water and stay hydrated.
Limit outdoor activities during the hottest part of the day whenever possible.
Check on older adults, young children, neighbors, and anyone who may be more vulnerable to the heat.
Never leave children or pets in a parked vehicle.
Make sure pets have plenty of fresh water and shade.
North Andover library
NORTH ANDOVER — The Stevens Memorial Library, 345 Main St., will be open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. through Thursday for anyone needing a place to cool down due to the heat.
Town Hall, 120 Main St., will also open at 8 a.m. Wednesday and Thursday for those who need a cool place before 10 a.m.
Town buildings will be closed Friday. If someone’s home is too warm, call the Police Department’s nonemergency line at 978-683-3168.
METHUEN — The Nevins Memorial Library, 305 Broadway, and Methuen Senior Activity Center, 77 Lowell St are both air conditioned and open to the public during regular business hours.
Forrest Lake is open to Methuen residents from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. The entrance fee is $10 per vehicle.
The city will also be offering giant sprinklers at the Comprehensive Grammar School, 100 Howe St, and Gill Ave Park, 5 Gille Ave. from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
SALEM, N.H. — The Ingram Senior Center, 1 Sally Sweets Way, is open and available as a cooling center from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday.
The Kelley Library, 234 Main St. will also be open from 9 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday.
The Mall at Rockingham Park, 99 Rockingham Park Blvd, will be open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday, from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday and from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday.
