FROSTBURG — Carter Shaffer drove in three runs, and Luke Pennington and Brantley Lantz recorded multi-hit games to lead the Westmar Builders to a 9-1 win over Frostburg in a Mountain League Baseball Junior Division game Tuesday.
Pennington went 2 for 3 with two RBIs and three runs, and Lantz went 2 for 3. Luke Ashby scored twice.
Westmar Builders’ Parker Wells was the winning pitcher, tossing 2 1/3 innings of one-hit shutout ball in relief with six strikeouts to one walk. Brant Helms got the start and surrendered an unearned run in 2 2/3 frames of work.
Frostburg’s Jacob Shipe had two hits. Landon Smith was tabbed with the loss.
Westmar Builders hosts Hampshire at Memorial Field on Thursday at 6 p.m., and Frostburg heads to Westernport to battle Amoroso’s on Thursday at 6 p.m.
Casselman Valley 12, Amoroso’s 2
SALISBURY, Pa. — Casselman Valley’s Mason Brown hit safely three times and Teddy Baer pitched a gem to fuel a romp of Amoroso’s in Junior Division action Tuesday.
Brown was 3 for 3 and scored twice, Landon Mull went 2 for 3 with two runs and Tanner Weimer scored twice.
Casselman Valley trailed 2-0 before an eight-run fifth inning. Baer settled in and recorded with win allowing two unearned runs on six hits in 5 2/3 innings, striking out five and walking two.
Amoroso’s had six hitters with a single each. Brayden Harvey was tabbed with the loss on the mound.
Amoroso’s hosts Frostburg in Westernport on Thursday at 6 p.m.
Casselman Valley heads to Flintstone on Thursday at 6 p.m.
