NEWBURYPORT — The Newburyport Education Foundation (NEF) recently announce that Caroline Weetman has been elected to its board of directors.
Weetman will represent Newburyport High School as the Class of 2028 student representative as a rising junior and will join rising senior Jack Dejordy who is the Class of 2027 student representative. Weetman’s two-year term will start immediately.
The NEF received numerous applications and narrowed down the field to interview three final candidates. Weetman, already a notable varsity tennis athlete, is also a volunteer for the Special Olympics for soccer and basketball, and is a member of both the Newburyport High Student Council and Interact Club. She has been a member of the NEF-sponsored Investment Club since freshman year where she is the sophomore portfolio manager and rising vice president. She has also volunteered for the NEF for the past two years at the NEF Lighthouse Auction and distributing teacher tributes.
“In addition to Caroline’s impressive resume, Caroline demonstrated exceptional professionalism, preparation, and confidence throughout her interview and commitment to her education at Newburyport High School,” NEF Executive Director Carrie O’Donnell said. “We will benefit immensely by having a direct line to the Investment Club and we are thrilled to have her join our board of birectors.”
