GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY
Hamilton-Wenham 18, Lynnfield 42: Captain Grace Rich set a new course record by finishing in 18:11 over the 2.8 mile terrain, enabling the Generals to prevail and capture the Cape Ann League Baker title. Fellow captain Asa Labell came in right after Rich, with Talia Labell, Anneliese Bubar, Anna Regan and Franceca Gamelli finishing in short order for Hamilton-Wenham (5-0).
Masconomet 15, Salem 50: The Chieftains, led by senior Madi Gibeau-Schmitt’s first place showing, took the top seven spots to prevail. Following in order for Masconomet were freshman Abby Williams, juniors Clara Alberta and Mara Siewko, sophomore Mia Stephanakis, junior Emma Dancause and senior Grace Ross.
Beverly 23, Swampscott 35: The Panthers ended their dual meet season at 3-4 after the victory on the road.
Peabody 23, Danvers 32: Lauren Foley and Ella Braz finished 1-2 for the Tanners while Lilly Murphy was fifth with Maya Sutton in sixth and Marley Lambert placing ninth overall.
Grace Conklin finished in third place and Madyson Danish in fourth to spearhead a solid showing for the Falcons (now 5-2). Addison Lamar (7th place), Emily Sullivan (8th) and Paige Sherman (10th) also ran well.
Pingree splits: The Highlanders topped Beaver Country Day (18-41) while falling to Winsor (16-47) and Newton led by Shreve Lord’s seven place finish (21:18). Georgia Goodling came in 13th in 22:53 with Quinn Beasley in 14th at 22:55.
BOYS CROSS COUNTRY
Hamilton-Wenham 15, Lynnfield 47: The Hamilton-Wenham boys also officially clinched the CAL Baker championship with a resounding win. Captains Cole Regan and Seth Glidden led the way by both finishing in 16:29. Ryan Regan, Malcolm Sprague, Alden LaPointe and Thomas Digris also had strong times for the Generals (now 5-0).
Marblehead 15, Winthrop 48: Seniors Henrik Adams, Will Cruikshank, Zach Pike and Colin Hart, along with junior Filip Grubor, all crossed the finish line together to spark the Magicians (4-3) to victory. Junior Felix Regnault and senior Tom Svencer came in hot on their teammates’ heels.
Masconomet 22, Salem 37: Senior Will Allen, juniors Duncan Cullinane and Conall Strangman, and sophomore Jonah Steffens all finished in a pack at 19:34 to guide the Chieftains. Teammates Charlie Stawasz (19:51), a sophomore, finished eighth; freshman Timmy Demers (19:52) was 10th and fellow frosh Matt Parziale (19:54) took 11th place.
Brooks Workman was a standout for the Witches, placing first overall in a time of 17:36.
Swampscott 26, Beverly 32: Jason Provost and Charlie Bossler continued to shine for the Panthers, once again placing first and second, respectively. Chris Mita added a seventh place finish for Beverly while Max Gilbert was 10th and Jackson Oliver 12th.
Peabody 15, Danvers 48: The Tanners celebrated Senior Day with Logan George winning the race and Matt McCusker, Aidan Trainor, Mohamed Lhassouani, Osama Mishal and Jackson Guerriero all finishing in the top ten.
Kyle Hampe (7th), Marcus Morias (8th) and Levi James (10th) all finished in the top 10 for the Falcons (0-7).
Pingree takes two: Will Coughlin won the meet in 17:34 to help Pingree down Beaver Country Day (25-32) as well as Landmark (28-29). Christian Marsh was the runner up in 18:45 with Matt Bless running 19:20 and Gavin Marsella clocking in at 21:04.
VOLLEYBALL
Salem 3, Winthrop 0: Senior captain Mia Silva had nine aces to go along with 15 assists as the Witches improved to 9-7. Fellow seniors Aniya King (6 kills) and captain Annie Thornett (4 kills, 5 aces) both had helping hands in the victory, as did sophomore Jenna Phelps (5 kills on 0.556 efficiency).
Masconomet 3, Danvers 0: Senior captains Cate Wettstone, Jordan Draper and Lidia Benedetto led the way for the Chieftains, who improved to 9-3 in conference play and 10-6 overall. Wettstone paced the attack with 10 kills and eight service aces; Draper wound up with 20 assists and four service aces; and Benedetto powered the defense with 25 digs and strong passing.
Marblehead 3, Beverly 0: Eva Burke had an excellent evening with 24 aces and six aces to help the Magicians improve to 13-2. Greta Sachs added seven kills and four blocks while Lila Moniz added nine kills for Marblehead, which prevailed 25-15, 25-10, 25-12.
Lorelei McKilligan, a junior, turned in a strong performance for the Panthers.
Covenant Christian Academy 3, Montrose 0: The Cougars collected a 25-16, 25-23, 25-20 straight set win.
FIELD HOCKEY
Manchester Essex 6, Essex Tech 0: Junior goalkeeper Frankie Roper had a season high 21 saves for the Hawks (2-10-3) in their setback. Makenna Chase was a disruptive force the entire 60 minutes for Essex Tech, with sophomore Mia Shawdee excelling defensively and getting passes up to her forwards. Another sophomore, Angelina Craig, controlled the midfield while fellow 10th grader Avery Howcroft kept her energy at a high level throughout the contest.
Pentucket 1, Hamilton-Wenham 0: The Generals (6-6-3) battled throughout but couldn’t manage to put a shot past the Panthers’ netminder. Their own goalie, Ruby Gladchun, finished with 10 saves.
Malden Catholic 5, Swampscott 2: Goaltender Lilah Caplan finished with a season high 18 saves as the Big Blue () were knocked off by the powerful Lancers. Juniors Lia Beatrice and Sofia Robledo Puch scored the goals for Swampscott, with both assists credited to classmate Lila Giard.
Ipswich 3, Triton 1: The Tigers (7-6-1) moved a game above .500 with three regular season contests remaining after a home triumph under the lights at Jack Welch Stadium.
BOYS SOCCER
Beverly 6, Peabody 0: Jayden Lopez, Julio Campbui and Cameron Fletcher all put forth strong efforts for Peabody (now 1-12).
Swampscott 2, Salem 0: Junior Simon Ramos had both goals for the Big Blue, who improved to 6-5-2 in the process. Milad Sassin assisted on both tallies.
GIRLS SOCCER
Pingree 3, Berwick 0: Antonella Najim and Josie Collins each scored with Andi Ferry making a penalty kick to power the Highlanders (8-2). Shauna O’Brien assisted on two goals and Summer Elward had the shutout in net.
Swampscott 1, Salem 0: Chloe Rogers had the lone goal with an assist from Maddie Mohan and Eve Bryne posted the shutout to help the Big Blue (6-3-3) maintain first place in the NEC Lynch.
Beverly 1, Peabody 0: Olivia Anketell netted the game’s only goal with an assist from Genevieve Bilotti and the Panthers (10-4-2) swept the Tanners with a road triumph. Annabelle Miller had a great game defensively as Beverly held Peabody to one shot on goal, and Tanner coach Andrew Douglass said his team played tremendously on defense and in the midfield.

Masconomet 1, Andover 0: Brooke Hagerty, Ada Paglierani, Sadie Morris, and Maddie Orciuch played stellar defense and Evy Mills stood tall in net as the Chieftains (12-2) blanked their non-league goes. Maggie Blosser netted the game-winner with an assist from Ava Wexler.
MEN’S COLLEGE SOCCER
Salem State 1, WPI 1: Iago De Sousa-Vieira’s unassisted tally with a little over five minutes left in regulation gave the Vikings (now 5-3-6) a tie. Marcelo Silva came up clutch with seven saves for the locals.
WOMEN’S COLLEGE SOCCER
Endicott 1, Western New England 0: Hannah Lord netted the game’s only goal 17 minutes in while Danvers native Samantha MacCormack stopped three shots to earn her third victory of the season, guiding the Gulls (now 7-7-1) to a win in Springfield.
UMaine Farmington 2, Salem State 1: A second half tally by Jenna Mitza cut the Vikings’ lead in half, but they could get no closer. Madison DeWitt made a pair of saves for Salem State (now 6-6-2).
