DANVILLE — The Vermilion County War Museum will be closed through Feb. 9, 2024.
The museum will re-open on Saturday, Feb. 10.
2024 will mark the museum’s 25th anniversary.
According to the museum’s curator and building chair, Ron Bolser, “During this time, we plan to do a deep cleaning which means moving our display cases, exhibits and furniture. We also will be doing painting, room renovations and moving some displays. The museum will also be opening a new exhibit area and updating others.”
“Some years the museum is open on Saturdays during January as we do our annual updates and cleaning, but this year because of the extensive work being done, we will be closed. But, I think you will find it worth the wait to see our changes,” Bolser said.
The war museum at 307 N. Vermilion St. in the former Carnegie Library Building in Danville features more than 60,000 artifacts in 14,000 square feet of display area.
