Voting has begun on a list of finalists in the Minnesota Department of Transportation’s latest Name a Snowplow contest.
The top eight vote-getters will become new snowplow names, one for each MnDOT district.
Noon Friday is the deadline to vote. Individuals may vote one time and select up to eight of their favorite names.
This is MnDOT’s sixth Name a Snowplow contest. The agency received more than 6,750 snowplow name submissions in December, staff reviewed those suggestions and helped narrow the list to 30 finalists. To see the list of finalists and to vote, go to: mndot.gov/nameasnowplow.
Past winners include Betty Whiteout, Han Snowlo and Plow Bunyan.
