Tuesday is Election Day, and polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Those in line at 7 p.m. will be allowed to vote. Voters must provide a valid photo ID.
Georgia law requires employers to give workers two hours off to vote either during early voting or on Election Day unless their shift begins two hours after polls open or ends two hours before they close.
Due to flood damage, the Whitfield County Schools building at 1306 S. Thornton Ave. in Dalton is unusable, so Precinct 4A voters will vote at First Christian Church at 1506 Dug Gap Road in Dalton. This change will affect voters in the following precinct combinations: 4A-079, 4A-082. Signs will be placed at both locations to direct voters, and a member of the election staff will be at the Thornton Avenue site to direct voters to the new location.
