Village of Lewiston residents can expect a 24-cent property tax increase if the village’s proposed budget is approved.
The $5.3 million spending plan for 2026-27 has a proposed tax rate of $8.59 per $1,000 of assessed value, up from this year’s rate of $8.35, to deal with increased inflation and expenses, officials said. Overall village spending is up from the $5.26 million set last year.
Of that, $4.31 million would come from village revenues, including $3.8 million in general fund revenue and $1.39 million in property taxes.
The Town of Lewiston is going through a reassessment process that is projected to be complete by this coming July. Any new resulting rates would not apply to village taxes until July 2027, so that will not impact the village’s proposed budget.
The water and sewer funds have $466,289 and $509,186 worth of expenses, both slight decreases and increases from last year, respectively, that are funded through metered sales and sewer rents. The water and sewer rates per 100 cubic feet will remain the same at $4.25 and $4.79, respectively.

• Mayor – $1,087.86 per month
