On behalf of the Veterans and First Responders Memorial at Fairfield Glade, I am pleased to announce that the long-awaited fountain in Lake Catherine is now installed and fully operational.
When we first undertook the initiative to build a memorial honoring our veterans and first responders several years ago, a fountain was included in the original design. Our goal was to select a feature that met the high standards of quality and design consistent with all other elements of Phase I of the Memorial. We believe this new fountain successfully achieves that goal.
Key features of the new installation include:
Performance: A powerful 5 hp motor capable of projecting a three-level spray up to 19 feet high.
Lighting: Two 6.5-watt white LED lights for evening illumination.
Controls: An integrated timer allowing for precise control of both fountain and light run times.
Quality: Commercial-grade construction standards for all components.
Environmental Benefit: The fountain provides essential aeration to Lake Catherine, helping to maintain a healthy ecosystem for the entire community to enjoy for years to come.
We will be refining the fountain’s operational schedule over the coming weeks. Currently, the fountain is set to run daily from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., with the lights operating from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. These schedules will be adjusted seasonally.
It is important to note that the purchase and installation costs for the fountain were funded entirely through private donations to the Memorial; no community club funds were used. Furthermore, the memorial will cover all electricity, operational, and maintenance expenses, ensuring this project remains a gift to the community from our generous donors.
This project underscores our ongoing commitment to the community and our veterans and first responders. We look forward to sharing more announcements regarding the next phase of the Memorial soon.
