DANVILLE — Kennekuk County Park, located at 22296 Henning Road in Danville, is hosting an Illinois Department of Natural Resources ENTICE workshop, Illinois Dragonflies, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, June 26.
Rusty snaketail, prince baskettail, and eastern amberwing all have one thing in common — being an Illinois dragonfly. Take part in field work and lab studies as we discuss the identification, life history, and behaviors of these fascinating invertebrates, both as aquatic nymphs and as adults. This workshop is for grades 6 to 10 but can be adapted for other grades.
Pre-registration is required. The cost is $11/person and individuals can sign up online at https://www.enticeworkshops.com. Experience ENTICE! Classroom resources, materials, and books will be provided to participants.
This workshop is offered through the ENTICE (Environment and Nature Training Institute for Conservation Education) for the Illinois Department of Natural Resources (IDNR). ENTICE classes are professional development workshops for educators, both formal and nonformal, sponsored by the IDNR. Preservice teachers welcome. Supplemental classroom resources will be provided. Professional Development Hours are available.
