VEC Customers Share Foundation presented a $1,000 grant to Hospice of Cumberland County to be used for Cumberland House Auxiliary’s Butterfly Release.
The butterfly release will be Saturday, June 20, at the Cumberland County Courthouse gazebo and lawn.
This grant will assist Hospice of Cumberland County to facilitate managed care and comfort relating to the patient’s diagnosis.
“For 38 years we have provided compassionate patient-centered care focused on comfort, dignity and support during life’s most challenging moments,” Hospice said in a written statement. “As a nonprofit hospice organization, Hospice of Cumberland County is able to place the needs of patients and their families first. We serve patients both in-home and in Cumberland House, our 24-hour residential facility. ‘Adding life to days when days can no longer be added to life’ is our mission.”
VEC Customers Share program is funded through Volunteer Energy Cooperative customers “rounding up” to the nearest dollar on their electric utility bill.
