VALDOSTA — Two men were wounded, one critically, in a shooting Wednesday in Valdosta.
Around 10:35 a.m., first responders headed to the 700 block of East Mary Street after a caller to E911 said he had been shot, a Valdosta Police Department statement said.
Police found two brothers in their late 30s with gunshot wounds; first aid was rendered until EMTs arrived and the pair were taken to SGMC. One had non-life-threatening injuries while the other was in critical condition Wednesday afternoon, police said.
Witnesses said a tall African-American male wearing dark pants and a white shirt was seen running from the area; some witnesses said they saw tattoos on his face, the statement said.
K9 units from both the police department and the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office came to the scene, but the suspect had not been found as of Wednesday afternoon.
The investigation continues and no more information will be immediately released, the police said.
