PLATTSBURGH — The City Beach is closed for swimming until further notice.
The closure began today due to elevated levels of E. coli in the water from a sample collected Monday.
The beach will remain open to the public, but swimming is not permitted. Regulated swimming areas will be monitored by lifeguards.
City staff will test the water daily until a clear result is received. Only then will swimming be reopened to beachgoers.
