The United Fund of Cumberland County recently congratulated Linda DeBerry on her 10th anniversary of service.
Holly Neal, United Fund executive director, said DeBerry is one of the dedicated ed Fairfield Glade Door-to-Door volunteers.
“Linda began her volunteer journey alongside her late husband, Don, who first introduced her to the work,” Neal said. “Since Don’s passing in 2020, Linda has continued their shared mission, reaching out to her neighbors in the Stonewood area with the same commitment and care.”
The Fairfield Glade Door-to-Door Campaign is one of the United Fund’s biggest fundraisers.
“United Fund encourages the Fairfield Glade community to respond generously when Linda or one of their many volunteers reaches out, whether through a knock on the door, a letter in the mail or an email,” Neal said.
“Residents can even get ahead of the call by responding directly to this article and sending a tax-exempt donation to the United Fund, a local 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that provides grant funding to over 30 local non-profits.”
These partner agencies tackle a wide range of social issues, including child and senior care, hunger, abuse, affordable housing, grief support, addiction recovery and services for those with disabilities, as well as supporting the local rescue squad.
Neal said it’s important to note that the United Fund is not affiliated with the United Way; funds raised in Cumberland County stay within the county, making the greatest impact by changing lives right here at home.
