SEARLES — Two people were killed in a two-vehicle crash involving five people from Madelia and Sioux Falls on Highway 15 Tuesday afternoon.
The identities of the people involved, including those who survived, are being withheld until Wednesday afternoon and evening.
The crash occurred at 1:47 p.m. just south of the small town of Searles midway between New Ulm and Madelia in an area where road construction was underway.
A 2015 Dodge Caravan, southbound on Highway 15 and driven by a 75-year-old Madelia woman, was stopped for construction.
A southbound 2021 Nissan Altima driven by an 18-year-old Sioux Falls woman collided with the Dodge, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.
