MANKATO — A 30-year-old Eagle Lake woman and a 54-year-old North Mankato man were injured in chain-reaction crashes involving six vehicles Friday afternoon at a highway on ramp in Mankato.
Brittany Lyn Fitzpatrick and Bayram Shyhnazarov were treated for non-life-threatening injuries at Mayo Health Systems in Mankato.Fitzpatrick was driving a 2022 Kia Sorento north on the Riverfront Drive ramp to Highway 169 at 2 p.m. when she braked the vehicle, the State Patrol said.Shyhnazarov was driving a northbound 2017 Chevrolet Bolt behind the Kia when the cars crashed.At the same time, Gracy Lynn Delaske, 19, of Waterville, was driving a northbound 2011 Chevrolet Malibu on the ramp that she stopped when she saw a vehicle crash ahead.Colton Jay Franklin, 18, of North Mankato, was driving a 2011 Chevrolet Impala behind the Malibu when the two vehicles crashed.Maya Leigh Hastings, 46, had stopped the 2018 Ford Escape she was driving when she saw the crash ahead. The Ford was struck from behind by a northbound 2007 Chrysler PT Cruiser driven by Mark Christopher Kral, 47, of Mankato.All of the drivers were wearing seatbelts.Delaske, Franklin, Hastings and Kral were not injured, the patrol said.
