DISTRICT 15 LITTLE LEAGUE
Boxford 11, Amesbury 0: Jake DeLeo hit two home runs and combined on a no-hitter along with fellow pitchers Harry Carrieri and Henry Pracht as Boxford improved to 3-0 and more-or-less guaranteed itself a spot in the Final Four for the second straight summer.
Hamilton-Wenham 14, Manchester Essex 0: Pitchers Will Thompson and Griffin Maidment combined for a four inning perfect game as the Generals made it back-to-back wins to take another step closer to making the Final Four. Hayden Potter and Graeme Watson had two hits each.
Ipswich 3, Danvers National 2: Bennet McCarthy hit an RBI single in the bottom of the sixth and Ipswich walked off with the win. Trailing 2-1 headed to their last ups, Ipswich (1-2) saw Colton Stevens lead off with a single and score on Julien Laroche’s RBI double before McCarthy’s winning knock came with two outs. Nate Lynch struck out four in three shut out innings and Gio Coffin also had two hits with one RBI.
The Nats got a double from Lucas Novello while pitchers Charlie Waldman and Jack Sheehan combined for seven strikeouts. Jack Lynch and Mason Ratanakich also had hits for Danvers (0-4).
GOLF
Play continues at Mass Am: Rains in Winchester halted the second round of this year’s Mass. Amateur, which means that those golfers who didn’t complete their rounds will do so on Wednesday morning. The cutline will then be established and the match play Round of 32 will also begin on Wednesday afternoon.
Kernwood’s Aidan Emmerich stand a great chance of moving on as he’s tied for ninth after finishing up. Emmerich shot under par on Monday and had a two day total of 142. Christian Emmerich is tied for 21st but has to finish his second round (shooting a 71 on Monday) while Tedesco’s Hunter Stone is in the hunt tied for 34th.
AMERICAN LEGION
Beverly/Salem 5, Newburyport 1: Liam Smith struck out five in five innings, allowing just two hits, and Joey Sinibaldi didn’t allow a baserunner in two frames with four strikeouts as Post 331 (5-2) won its fifth in a row. Smith helped himself with a double while Shea Christel had a pair of hits and two RBI to spark the offense.
