FIELD HOCKEY
Peabody 3, Swampscott 2: The Tanners scored a big time upset as sophomore Elizabeth Moore’s tally with 3:33 broke a tie game and gave her team the victory. Captain Daniella White and Chris Troncoso had the other Peabody (2-4-1) goals, with captain Amelia DiBattista assisting on the latter. Goalkeeper Sophia Kassis had a big performance, stopping six shots.
Olivia Quagrello and Lyla Giard had the goals for Swampscott (3-6), with captain Maisie Russo assisting on both. Goalie Lylah Caplan finished with four saves.
Marblehead 1, Saugus 1: Captain Gabby Hendy’s goal, her team-leading fifth of the of the season, tied the game in the fourth quarter, allowing the Magicians (2-4-1) to earn a point.
St. Mary’s Lynn 2, Bishop Fenwick 0: Despite a magnificent performance from goaltender Ginny Cahill, who stopped 32 of 34 shots, the Crusaders couldn’t dent the scoreboard. Midfielders Nikki Tinkham and Ashley Stickney both starred for Fenwick (3-4).
Gloucester 1, Danvers 0: Goaltender Grace McLaughlin had 11 saves, giving her more than 100 saves this season, in the Falcons’ setback. Caroline Horn, Emma Cross, and Lily Patterson also played well for Danvers (1-6-1).
VOLLEYBALL
Bishop Fenwick 3, Archbishop Williams 0: Sienna Mancinelli had five aces and Caitlin Boyle had six kills as the Crusaders improved to 8-2 with a 25-17, 25-19, 25-19 CCL sweep. Charlotte Spooner added seven kills, Gwen Schroeder had a dozen digs and Teagan Davenport (10 assists) and Ana Silveira (six) passed the ball well.
Masconomet 3, Winthrop 0: Senior captain Megan Brady had 11 kills and three blocks and the Chieftains (7-1) won their sixth straight to remain unbeaten in NEC play, 25-16, 25-18, 25-17. Senior captain Alba Vranari had five aces while sophomore setter Nora Sterner had six assists with three aces. Stephanie Pereira, Natalie Denton, Julia Anderson and Elyse Clapp played well in some of their first varsity court time.
Swampscott 3, Beverly 2: Junior Lila Paster had 14 kills and four aces and senior Yanielis Pizarro carried the day with 18 kills to help the Big Blue edge the Panthers in a thrilled, 17-25, 25-23, 25-18, 19-25, 15-10.
Junior Reese Kwiatek had a great match for Beverly with 17 digs plus nine kills and five aces while senior captain Aleek Kuot had 15 digs, nine kills plus four aces. Senior captain Gabby Wickeri handed out 17 assists as well.
Peabody 3, Salem 0: The Tanners improved to 3-6 overall with the conference victory. Leading the Witches were sophomore Gueladio Bah with six aces as well as junior captain Mia Silva with five digs
Hamilton-Wenham 3, Georgetown 2: Sophomore Addie Olson had 30 assists along with five digs to power the Generals to a 25-18, 17-25, 24-26, 25-22, 15-6 marathon win. Sophomore Alex Jose’s (11 aces, 11 digs, 10 kills) great serving run at the end of the forth set allowed H-W to force the fifth, during which senior Morgan Etna (10 aces, 7 kills, 6 dig) and sophomore middle Grace Harres (5 kills) proved dominant.
GOLF
North Reading 199, Essex Tech 179: Cameron Casey had 33 points to pace the Hawks and Emmett Snyder added 32.
Ipswich 164, Georgetown 146: The Tigers (6-3) and Royals were tied after the top six scorers came in (144) and Ipswich ended up winning the tiebreaker with the next highest scorer. Will Totten led the winners with 26, Samir Harb had 25 and Connor Wright and Louis Harrington had 24 each.
Hamilton-Wenham 156, Manchester Essex 144: Liam Berrigan had 29 points including an eagle on the No. 8 hole at Myopia to highlight the day for the Generals. Logan Guitterr was the top scorer with 33 points while Reid Faldi also scored 29.
Beverly 43.5, Masconomet 29.5: Senior Will Ryan earned a split at No. 1 and wins by Thomas Simeone, Andrew Murphy, Henry Robinson, Jonah Bellew and Nolan Wheeler enabled the Panthers to improve to 8-1 on their home course.
For the Chieftains (6-3), Cole Velardo halved his match in the top slot and shot even par while No. 2 Brendan Sheehan and No. 3 Parker Wassung were victorious.
Gloucester 57.5, Salem 14.5: Having solid rounds for the Witches against an excellent Fishermen team were Maddox Dion, Barbara Rowley and Alyson Gill.
St. John’s Prep 221, Malden Catholic 236: Brian Loughlin, Seamus O’Holleran, Jack Moriarty and Zach Enners all shot even par 36’s to help the Eagles improve to 7-1. Dominic Myers also had a great round with a one-over 37 and Jack Carew carded a 40.
BOYS CROSS COUNTRY
St. John’s Prep 20, St. John’s Shrewsbury 41: Liam Mahoney cut the tape in 18:16 in the 5K race at Shrewsbury while Jack McIntosh was second in 18:17. St. John’s had five of the top seven with Henry McDonnell in fourth (18:46), Leo Seltenrich sixth (18:56) and Liam Callahan seventh (18:58).
Fenwick drops pair: Despite meet losses to Archbishop Williams (19-38) and Bishop Stang (17-45), the Crusaders got strong performances by Sam Appleyard (fifth overall), Doron Appleyard (11th) and John Reilly (15th).
GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY
Bishop Fenwick 28, Archbishop Williams 28: The Crusaders, who also downed Bishop Stang with ease (17-45) were tied with the Archies after the first five runners and lost narrowly on the tiebreaking sixth harrier. Marianna Kay finished second overall, Adelaide Sweatman was third, Olivia Rowe was fourth and Caroline Blatchford finished eighth.

Essex Tech 1, Triton 0: Senior captain Chelsea Martinez scored her team-leading third goal of the season and the Hawks (3-4) got a solid road win in CAL action. Freshman keeper Vitoria Valentine earned her first varsity shutout as well.
Hamilton-Wenham 7, Ipswich 1: The unbeaten Generals (5-0-3) started 11 seniors on Senior Day at Iron Rail and got big performances from each of them to down their rivals. Georgia Wilson and Tessa Hunt each had two goals and one assist while Savannah Gauron, Lilly Giovannucci and Gillian Begin also scored. Annie Moynihan had an assist while senior forward Madeline Ciaramitaro had a strong game on the offensive end. Senior defenders Sadie Gamber and Caroline Monahan played well in support of Senior goalies Sasha Makogonov and Piper Shepherd.
Saugus 3, Swampscott 1: Freshman Julia Moser netted her first varsity goal late in the second half but it wasn’t enough to bring the Big Blue (2-4-2) all the way back under the lights at Serino Stadium. Fiona Keaney picked up an assist on the marker.
BOYS SOCCER
Salem 3 KIPP 2: The Witches stayed hot as Kevyn Barbosa had two goals, Henry Beauparlant added another and Guilherme Arruda earned two assists. Gabe Bennett played well in net with seven saves.
WOMEN’S COLLEGE VOLLEYBALL
Regis 3, Salem State 0: Presley Shairs had ten kills and Haley Phillips contributed with seven but the Vikings dipped to 2-10 with the road setback.

Colby 1, Endicott 0: The Mules blanked the Gulls (3-4-1) in non-league action up in Maine.
WOMEN’S COLLEGE TENNIS
Salem State 9, Southern Maine 0: Madison Sartori, Kenzie McLaren, Ryann Tripp, Abiail Letarte, Erin Curristin and Alanna Bonneau all won their singles matches in straight sets as the Vikings (4-1) had no problem winning their fourth consecutive match.
MEN’S COLLEGE TENNIS
Springfield 6, Endicott 1: George Danes and Conrad Kadel had the lone win for the Gulls, taking care of business at first singles.
