Beverly 4, Braintree 1: The red-hot Panthers traveled to the South Shore for a Division 1 preliminary round match Tuesday and came home victorious after picking up their fourth straight win.
All three singles players came up triumphant for the Orange-and-Black as junior Adeline Kontos won at first singles (6-3, 7-6), senior Grace Adams did likewise at No. 2 (6-0. 6-3) and sophomore Olivia Devereaux swept her Wamps opponent at third singles (6-0. 6-0). Beverly got an additional win at second doubles as junior Claire Fitzgerald and sophomore Sophie Litterer teamed up for a 6-3, 6-4 decision.
Now 9-8 on the season, the Panthers will travel to the courts at Daly Field in Brighton Thursday at 3 p.m. to take on top seeded Boston Latin.
