Niagara Falls will host a meeting for the Public Plaza and Main Street Streetscape Improvements Project at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Niagara Falls Train Station, at 825 Depot Ave.
The Public Plaza and Main Street Streetscape Improvements Project is focused on enhancing walkability, connectivity, and sense of place within the Business and Bridge Districts. It also looks to coordinate improvements along Main Street, create a public plaza on Cleveland Avenue and improve pedestrian connections to Niagara Falls State Park.
There will be a brief presentation about the project followed by an informal and interactive open house. The meeting will help the project team, led by Fisher Associates, better understand concerns, issues, and opportunities in the project area and ensure that the final design reflects the needs and desires of the community.
The community can learn more about the project and future public engagement activities at https://niagarafallsusa.org/government/city-departments/planning-and-environmental/.
“Enhancing Main Street is a major economic development priority for Niagara Falls and as such we encourage residents and members from the community to provide their feedback to what will ultimately be a transformative project for our city,” Mayor Robert Restaino said.
The Main Street project is being funded by the New York State Department of State’s Downtown Revitalization Initiative (DRI). For more information, contact Ian Benjamin, Planner II, City of Niagara Falls at nfny.planning@niagarafallsny.gov.
