If your Alabama summertime just doesn’t feel right unless it’s accompanied by the pleasant rumble of a tractor (and perhaps a whiff or two of diesel smoke), organizers of the Hanceville Antique Tractor & Engine Show have just the event you’re looking for.
On Saturday, June 8, the tractor show will return once more to the campus of Wallace State Community College, celebrating all the mechanical things that make the agricultural world go ‘round. In addition to antique and vintage tractors, there’ll be more inventively motorized farming gadgets on display, alongside a full slate of family-friendly outdoor activities, food trucks and kids’ games.
The annual event marks the local show’s 26th year, and as always, it’ll be free to attend. Organizer Charles Allen told members of the Hanceville City Council at the council’s April 25 regular meeting that more details about the June 8 event will be shared soon. The next regular meeting of the Hanceville City Council will be held Thursday, May 9 at 5:30 p.m. in the council meeting room at Hanceville City Hall. A 5 p.m. public work session will precede the meeting at the same location.
