BEEKMANTOWN — Track and field across the North Country battled the wind Thursday as schools competed in their second meet of the season.
Beekmantown took care of business in a non-conference match against Lake Placid to win the overall meet.
Chris Lincourt, Loghan Strickland, Nolan Laidman and Owen Kapp carried the Eagle boys, winning multiple events as all got one win in the 4×800.
Lincourt won the long jump, Laidman won the 800 and Kapp the 400 hurdles.
Laidman, Kapp and Strickland also picked up a win in the 4×400.
Adam Burnham won the 100 while also being on the 4×100 relay. Henry Kapp and Carson Ladue also were on the winning 4×100 relay team and won the 200 and 100, respectively.
The Eagles were able to take wins in the sprints and intermediate hurdles with the help of Addison Cartier in the 4×100 and 200 and Addison Steele in the 100 and 400-meter hurdles. Jordanne Minchoff led the middle distance squad with wins in the 4×800 and the 1,500, and Kyle Bishop swept the throws in shot put and discus.
Leila Fey in the 400, 800 and 4×400 and Norah Francis in the long jump and 4×400 contributed to four wins for the Bombers.

Storm-ing over M/BV
SARANAC LAKE — Saranac Lake ran over and past Moriah/Boquet Valley in their track meet.
All-in-all, seven boys and five girls won multiple events for the Red Storm.
Saranac Lake had a variety of winners from the throws, Sam Duprey winning the discus and shot put, to middle and distance running.
Rory Popp tripled with three 3,000, 400-meter hurdles and on the 4×800. Everest Wolford and Peter Gaylord were on the 4×800 relay, as well, but both doubled winning the 400 and 1,600, respectively.
Three members of the 4×100 — Grady Tetro, Austin Webb-Brown and Jeffery Sears — won at least one other vent. Tetro led the way, winning the 100 and 200. Webb-Brown won the long jump as Sears won the 110 hurdles.
On the girls side, Ally Bourgeois led Saranac Lake with three event wins. She won the 400 and was on the 4×800 and 4×400 relay teams.
All members of the 4×800 and 4×400 relays won multiple events.
From the 4×400, joining Bourgeois was Jovie Schenk, who won the 100. Karissa Holmes was on both relay teams, as well as Meadow Nashette.
Lena Holmes doubled being on the 4×800 and winning the triple jump.
Anika Wasmganz doubled, joining Schenk on the 4×100 and also winning the high jump.

Nighthawks Soar
PERU — Peru had a combined nine athletes win multiple events against Ticonderoga.
The Sentinels had one, as well, with Ollie Porter doubling with wins in the 400-meter hurdles and as part of the 4×800 team.
But the day belonged to the Nighthawks.
Three members of the winning 4×100 relay team doubled. Michael Welc won the 3,200, Jordan Osborne captured the long jump and Skylar Raczkowski won the 400.
Six Peru girls won at least two events as Brynn Bertrand and Addison Healy won three.
Bertrand won the 100, high jump and was on the 4×400 with Healy, who also won the long jump and triple jump.
Maggie Garrow won the 100 hurdles and was on the 4×100 relay with Isabella Arana who was a member of the 4×800.
Logan Ecker joined Arana on the 4×800 and won the 3,000.
Peru was rounded out with Hannah Packwood winning the throws, shot put and discus.

Spartans cruise
CLINTONVILLE — Saranac and AuSable competed, with the Spartans walking away with the track and field victory.
While boys’ results were submitted, the girls’ results were not received.
Saranac won the meet, and AuSable Valley had four runners win multiple events.
The Spartans had one in Braeden Waldron winning the 200 and being on the 4×100.
The Patriots’ Celton Dupuis won three events, the 400-meter hurdles, shot put and on the 4×400 relay.
The other members of the 4×400 relay team — Avonte Yeates, Reece Long and Skyler Trombley — each won a second event.
Yeates won the 100, and Trombley was on the 4×800 with Long, who won the 800.
