Town of Niagara Police arrested a North Tonawanda man Tuesday following a reported road rage assault on an 80-year-old Grand Island resident.
According to Town of Niagara Police, David Reinhart, 24, turned himself in to the police and was later charged with second-degree assault, a class D felony.
At approximately 3:15 p.m. Monday, a town officer was flagged down on the 2400 block of Military Road by a witness who reported an elderly man had been assaulted. At the same time, dispatchers received calls for a road rage assault near Third Avenue and Military Road.
Officers found the 80-year-old man in front of the Fashion Outlets mall in his vehicle, with witnesses providing assistance. He sustained serious facial and head injuries and was transported to Erie County Medical Center.
Further investigations into this are pending.
