On Monday, the Town of Niagara Lions, President Lion Mike Hoplight and Helping Hands will host the annual Memorial Day ceremony at Veterans Memorial Community Park, 7000 Joe Rotella Way (Lockport Road), Town of Niagara.
The ceremony will begin at 11 a.m. with the Pledge of Allegiance led by Town Supervisor Sylvia Virtuoso. Morgan Giannantonio will perform the “Star-Spangled Banner” and “Taps.” Pastor Ron Maines of Forestview Church of God will provide opening and closing prayers. Memorial wreaths will be placed next to the monument by the Town of Niagara Lions, Helping Hands.
The guest speaker, Gold Star Mother, Mrs. Sandy Krege, will give a Memorial Day speech. Lion John Teixeria will dedicate a new park bench in honor of Lion Angelo Onevelo.
Join the town ceremony in rightly honoring and remembering all those who gave the final measure of devotion, their life, in service to the United States of America.
In the event of inclement weather, the ceremony will be held in the Calvin Richards Community Center.
