FROSTBURG — America’s Best Restaurants, a national media and marketing company focusing on bringing attention to local, independently-owned restaurants, will bring its ABR Roadshow to The Toasted Goat in Frostburg on Wednesday.
Popular dishes will be highlighted as the crew conducts an on-camera interview with owners Donny and Kristan Carter about the restaurant’s place in the community. The episode will be aired extensively on social media channels at a later date.
Located in the historic Hotel Gunter, built in 1897, The Toasted Goat originally opened in 2016 at a location down the street from the hotel. The Carters, who are also avid home wine-makers, purchased Hotel Gunter in 2019 and relocated the winery to the new space. They serve a full bar of craft beers and cocktails in addition to a large wine selection, as well as lunch and dinner menus curated by the chef, Donny’s brother Phil.
The venue also houses a subterranean jail (originally to house prisoners being transported on U.S. Route 40) and a speakeasy.
Filming will take place from 3 to 6 p.m.
The restaurant’s finished episode premiere date will be announced on its Facebook page and will be featured on America’s Best Restaurants’ website.
Restaurants featured on the ABR Roadshow are selected based on their customer reviews, menu items, social media presence and level of involvement with their community. They are found through customer nominations, internal vetting or by a restaurant applying to be featured at www.americasbestrestaurants.com.
