Enjoy the acclaimed music of the Tennessee Tech University Tuba Euphonium Ensemble at a community concert Sunday, Sept. 27.
The concert begins at 3 p.m. at Pleasant Hill Community Church, United Church of Christ.
Celebrating more than 55 years in existence, the award-winning Ensemble is one of the most successful performing collegiate ensembles in history and among the most recorded ensembles of its kind in the world.
The Ensemble’s history has included eight Carnegie Hall appearances, two World’s Fair performances, numerous national and international conference engagements, from Preservation Hall in New Orleans to the Spoleto Festival in Charleston to the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC.
The Ensemble is responsible for the composition and arrangement of more music for the tuba than any other single source.
The Ensemble is currently under the direction of Preston Light, assistant professor of tuba and euphonium at Tennessee Tech University and principal tuba of the Bryan Symphony Orchestra and the Springfield, OH, Symphony Orchestra.
He has presented masterclasses and recitals across the U.S., as well as being a featured soloist with many bands and orchestras.
This performance is the third in the 2026 Diana Riggs Concert Series, which honors the church’s late director of music.
There is no admission fee, although donations are welcome.
