NEWBURYPORT — Tinkerhaus Community Makerspace is presenting the following activities this winter.
Valentine making pop up
For the sixth year in a row, Tinkerhaus Community Makerspace will be hosting a valentine making event this year on Jan. 28, 6:30 p.m. at Parish Hall, 26 Pleasant St., Newburyport, next to the First Religious Society — Unitarian Universalist Church. Barbara Burns Dore, also known as @papergoddess2, will be offering instruction.
Dore is an artist/social worker and cut paper illustrator. She has been featured in Newburyport Magazine, Where Women Create, and Uppercase Magazine, as well as at the Newburyport Art Association and other local galleries. Participants will make valentines for their own sweethearts and also make some to share with local seniors. Lots of papers, stickers, envelopes, glitter and bling provided. Ages 8 and up. Admission is $20.
Make a wire tree with Ryan Kelley
Visit Tinkerhaus Community Makerspace, located at 3 Graf Road, Suite 11, in Newburyport, on Feb. 8 from 10 a.m. to noon to make wire trees with artist Ryan Kelley.
Kelley is an experienced creative with hundreds of creations and commissioned pieces to his name. His work can be seen in homes and businesses throughout the region and around the world. In the early years of his career he joined the Newburyport Art Association as a member and then as a board member. Kelley has received numerous awards for his sculptures at associations across the state, and exhibits his work in multiple galleries in other states. The class is for ages 10 and up. Bring a fist-sized rock for each person. Admission is $75.
