Danvers 42, Essex Tech/Masconomet 42: With pins by JJ McPherson, Logan Jacques, Dario Santos, and Ian McMahon the Falcons earned a draw.
Marblehead/Swampscott 47, Salem 20: Winners for the Black-and-Blue includes Jaymes Carey (113), Isaiah Gibson (106), Liam O’Brien (132), Greg Padstrelov (144), Clive Connolly (150), Mason Hinshaw (157), Alejandro Haven (165), senior Gavin Lepler (175), Colin Hart (190) and Justin Gonzalez (285).
Salem picked up a victory from Kevin Spoon (126), Justice Bower (138) and Lukas Dos Anjos (215).
SWIMMING
Bishop Fenwick 84, Arlington Catholic 71: The Crusaders won eight events with Caroline Blatchford capturing in the 100 back in a state cut time of 2:07.47 as well as the 200 free (2:07.47), Hannah Ryan doing the same in the 100 breast (1:16.5) and winning the 200-IM (2:32.44), Amelia Gallant winning and making state time in the 100 fly (1:05.93) and 500 free (5:44.50) and that foursome combining to take both relays.
Danvers 93, Salem 57: Double winners Max Scott (100 free, 200 free) and Zach Cotter (200-IM, 100 back) helped the Falcons pick up their second straight win. Darius Chung won the 50 free and finished second in the 100 free, Taylor Landry won diving with Olivia Page in second and Agnes Osminkin, Julia Boyd, Maddie Martin, Ben Hoctor earned second place points in their events. Logan McNulty, Kevin Ouelette, Caleb Clark scored key thirds.
BOYS SKIING
Eagles cruise: Josh Haarmann was first down the mountain in 22.15, Sam Charrette wasn’t far behind in second, Owen McLain was third and St. John’s Prep had five of the top 11 finishers overall to beat both Haverhill (112-23) and Newburyport (81.5-53.5).
Masconomet wins two: The Chieftains defeated Manchester Essex (87-48) as well as North Andover (75-60) as David Palmer (23.81) and Ethan Daly (24.04) had strong runs.
Gens drop pair: Though Hamilton-Wenham fell to Haverhill (72-63) and Andover (89-46), Cooper Bossum delivered a top ten finish with a time of 23.65.
GIRLS TRACK
Falcons drop two: Sabrina Sturgeon was first overall in the 300 in a tri-meet though Danvers fell to Marblehead (55-22) as well as Swampscott (48-29). Grace Conklin also won the 2-mile in both meets and Ava Patch picked up first in the 600 against the Big Blue. Other outstanding performers included Oriana Rodriguez (dash), Paige Sherman (1000), Madyson Danish (mile) and Addison Lamar (two mile).
MEN’S COLLEGE HOCKEY
Salem State 3, Westfield State 1: Luke Day lit the lamp to break a 1-1 tie in the first period and the Vikings (9-4) won their sixth consecutive game. Will Nepveau stayed hot in the net with 21 saves and other goals came by way of Keegan O’Donoghue and Jon Wasleko.
