Sarah Tressler finished 6-for-6 this season. She collected every award possible. She was named the Merrimack Valley Conference Player of the Year, followed by being named to the Eastern Mass, All-State, All New England and All-American teams, and now is the Eagle-Tribune’s Player of the Year.
And the Central Catholic star is just a junior.
“Sarah is a standout on the field,” said head coach Jami Hayden. “She’s extremely technical, physical and well-rounded. She has a dynamite left foot — she can shoot from anywhere. She moves the ball better than anyone, and that’s a testament to her work ethic. She puts in the time, not just at practice, but on her own.”
This fall, Tressler finished the season with 17 goals and added 15 assists, giving her three-year total of 32 goals, 32 assists and 64 points. Her many highlights included scoring hat trick against Billerica, a corner kick goal against Shrewsbury, a flip throw-in goal against Haverhill and a free kick goal against top-ranked Bishop Feehan.
The Andover resident played a huge part in Central’s 17-game unbeaten streak, the program’s third straight MVC Division 1 league title and a trip to the Division 1 quarterfinals.
She is now a two-time All-State, Eastern Mass and Eagle-Tribune All-Star, and a three-time MVC All-Conference selection.
Outside of soccer, Tressler is also a key member of the successful indoor and outdoor track teams. She’s an excellent student in the classroom, part of the National Honor Society, the Student Council Vice President, a Peer Leader and Student Ambassador, part of the Student Alumni Association, a member of the EBoard and a member of the school’s band.
She has been involved in a series of community events, including organizing a food drive.
Tressler has already committed to attend and play soccer at Brown University starting in the Fall of 2027.
