Dominant for the season. Dominant for her career.
It’s the only way to describe Mia Thomas, our 2025 Eagle-Tribune Player of the Year, on the tennis court.
The recent Andover High grad finished off her four years on varsity for the Warriors without ever dropping a match to a Merrimack Valley Conference opponent – a perfect 49-0.
“She leads by example and is a role model for everyone in our program,” said coach Alan Hibino.
Thomas, who went 68-10 in her high school career overall, worked her way up the highly competitive Andover ladder, playing third singles as a freshman, No. 2 as a sophomore and junior, and ultimately in the No. 1 spot this year.
The four-time All-Merrimack Valley Conference selection and three-time Eagle-Tribune All-Star went 15-3 this spring overall and 11-0 in the conference.
A captain and the MVC Player of the Year this season, Thomas will study architecture at Virginia Tech with her sights set on potentially playing club tennis.
