Tax-Aide has provided income tax preparation and filing at no cost to taxpayers for more than 50 years.
Tax-Aide is providing this service for tax year 2025 in Crossville and Fairfield Glade.
“Unfortunately, the site at the Community House in Pleasant Hill is not opening this year,” said a written statement from Tax-Aide District 2.
The sites and numbers for making required appointments are:
Crossville — Art Circle Public Library, 3 East St. Call 901-231-9077 for an appointment.
Fairfield Glade — Fairfield Glade Police Department building, 5160 Peavine Road. Call 423-405-3525 for an appointment.
Taxpayers are asked to refrain from calling hosting facilities for information associated with the tax process.
“Tax-Aide is a non-profit activity and is not allowed to pay rent for the purpose of offering this service,” said the written statement. “The facilities that allow us to use their space do not have any involvement in the administration of this program, and we do not want to have their activities disrupted as a result of their generous hosting of Tax-Aide.”
An appointment is required for individuals to have their taxes prepared.
The day(s) of the week that the service is available varies from site to site. Go to aidintax.com for days and hours of operation and directions for making an appointment.
“Most of the sites have a link to allow taxpayers to make an appointment on-line themselves,” the Tax-Aide statement said.
“Taxpayers who do not have the ability make an appointment online may call the sites.”
While the AARP Foundation coordinates with the IRS to provide the administration of the Tax-Aide program, Tax-Aide is primarily funded by the IRS and offers this service at no charge to all individual taxpayers — there are no limits on ages, marital status or residence.
Other nearby district Tax-Aide sites include the Latter-day Saints Church in Jamestown; and the Activity Center (formerly Senior Center) in Sparta.
