KENSINGTON — Join wooden boatbuilder, outdoorsman and Big Tree measurer Kevin Martin, as he discusses his new book, “Big Trees of Northern New England.”
His presentation starts at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 1, in the Kensington Public Library.
You will hear how he got involved with finding the trees; how lumber from similar trees is used in his boatbuilding work; and how wildlife will use these impressive parts of our landscape.
The discussion will cover trees on public land in the region, and where they are located so you can go see them for yourself. City tours are also described. He will highlight some trees local to the seacoast area.
Martin has been a wooden boat builder for over 40 years, served on his town’s Conservation Commission, The Lamprey River Advisory Committee and the NH Big Tree program.
Books will be available after the presentation for those interested.
Kensington Public Library is located at 126 Amesbury Road.
This event is free and open to the public.
