The driver of a Ford Bronco jumped the sidewalk and landscaping bed in front of Denny’s on South Transit Road Friday morning, crashing through a window on the front of the restaurant.
The driver and passenger, both over 65, were transported to a health care facility for evaluation. No one was occupying the table directly inside Denny’s where the window was broken at 10:50 a.m. and no one inside the restaurant was injured.
New York State Police are investigating the incident. South Lockport Volunteer Fire Company’s Fire Rescue unit and Rapids Volunteer Fire Company’s Advanced Life Support unit also responded to the scene.
A restaurant employee said the dining room was closed for several hours after the incident. By early evening the window was boarded and Denny’s was serving dinner patrons.
