SUNY Niagara is offering two different summer camps for youth in Niagara County and Western New York at its Sanborn campus.
A general sports camp will run from July 20-23 and Boys Basketball Camp II will run from July 27-30. Each camp costs $175 per camper.
The co-ed general sports camp is offered to those ages 6-14 and will run from 9:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. in the SUNY Niagara gymnasium. The camp offers indoor and outdoor programs for boys and girls, including soccer, basketball, football, kickball, handball, wiffle ball, capture the flag, relays, water balloons, and more, with instruction from Thunderwolves coaches and student-athletes.
The Boys Basketball Camp II is offered to players ages 7-16 and will run from 9:30 a.m. — 3:30 p.m. in the campus gymnasium. Instruction is led by SUNY Niagara’s 17-year head coach Bill Beilein, who has won 354 games and advanced the blue-and-gold to the NJCAA Div. II national tournament five times.
Since 2010, Beilein and his staff have taught campers how to increase their self-confidence both on and off the court in a fundamental, informative and exciting four-day session. Groups will be divided by age and skill.

SUNY Niagara High School Shootout
SUNY Niagara women’s basketball and head coach Bill Shaw is hosting a high school shootout from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. August 22 — 23 in Sanborn. The two-day event is a shootout for high school and AAU girls basketball teams and the cost is $350 per team.
Each team is guaranteed four games with the possibility of up to six games. The current plan is to have two divisions, depending on the number of teams.
Two certified officials will officiate each of the team’s games. Teams are asked to have a designated scorekeeper for each game.
Please send a list of your roster, including coaches’ names, to jkraus@niagaracc.suny.edu before August 1. For any questions, please contact Shaw at 716-622-0742.
Meat Raffle Donations Needed
SUNY Niagara softball and women’s volleyball are seeking donations for their joint meat raffle in September. An official date for the meat raffle will be announced in the near future.
The teams are looking for gift baskets, gift cards and large prizes. Every donation supports SUNY Niagara’s student-athletes and softball and women’s volleyball programs.
