Laura Sullivan and Kelvin Rainey are taking the next step in their careers as Great Southern Bank announces promotions for both employees. Sullivan has been promoted to network administration officer and Kelvin Rainey to head teller/physical security officer, according to Steven Cooksey, Great Southern president and COO.
Sullivan, a native of Meridian, graduated from Meridian High School and Meridian Community College. She furthered her education at Columbia Southern University, graduating cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in information technology, and at Colorado Technical University, graduating with distinction with a Master of Science focused on information systems security. Sullivan began her banking career with Great Southern Bank in 2021 as its network administrator. Prior to joining the bank, Sullivan worked with Koch Foods as a physical security specialist and taught information systems technology at East Central Community College. Sullivan, and her husband, Steven, have one son, Franek. They are members of First Baptist Church of Collinsville.
Rainey, a native of Lisman, Alabama, graduated from Choctaw County High School. He began his banking career with Great Southern Bank in 2022 serving as a teller, head teller and security coordinator. Prior to joining the bank, Rainey worked for Wal-Mart in loss prevention and Lowes as a department supervisor. Rainey is married to Malissa, and they have two children, J’yZalon and MaKayla. They are members of Freedom Rock Cathedral.
