Cody Young, AEMT and regional director of clinical partnerships at Pasadena Villa Psychiatric Treatment Network, will speak to the Cumberland Prevention Coalition about the suicide rate in the U.S. and in Tennessee, and about suicide prevention.
The meeting will be Feb. 23 in The Attic at Cumberland Fellowship Church, 1640 West Ave., Crossville.
Lunch will be served at 11:30 a.m., and the meeting will be from noon-1 p.m. Seating is limited, and lunch is free; those planning to attend are asked to RSVP to programs@cumberlandpreventioncoalition.org or call 931-210-0384.
Following graduation from Cumberland County High School in 2008, Young studied pre-med at Middle Tennessee State University and obtained his EMS certification from Tennessee Tech University.
He began his career in emergency medical services and hospital-based emergency departments, gaining firsthand experience across acute care, primary care, and clinical operations.
“With a career in frontline healthcare delivery, a systems-level understanding of patient care, operational performance, Cody has become a health care leader,” said Christine Stinson of the Coalition. “Even though he has transitioned out of public safety, he continues to hold an active dvanced EMT licensure and provides continuing education training to public safety organizations about suicide prevention, awareness and mental health for first responders.”
Cumberland Prevention Coalition meets the third Monday of the month to discuss current programs and new programming that strives to meet the needs of the greater community.
The public is welcome to attend the meetings or to become members or volunteers.
