Street improvement contract awarded

VALDOSTA — A contract has been awarded for an intersection improvement project in Valdosta.
The Georgia Department of Transportation awarded more than $4.4 million to The Scruggs Company of Hahira to make improvements at the intersection of St. Augustine Road and Gornto Road, a statement from the transportation department said.
The project should be finished at the end of spring 2026.
The original project budget was $3.9 million, the GDOT website said.
