Snow plows made a summer appearance as they cleared mud from the road, after a heavy rainstorm caused flooding and a road closure near the roundabout for state Route 28 and state Route 357 in North Franklin from late Thursday, Aug. 27 into early morning Friday.
According to the state Department of Transportation, “crews worked through the night to address localized flooding.”
“NYSDOT crews cleared several large culverts in the area and removed mud and debris from the roadways, allowing them to reopen this morning,” an NYSDOT statement read. “Crews will be on site performing additional maintenance to culverts and drainage systems in the area during the next few days.”
Spokesperson Anya Kardos said via email the area was closed from about 9:30 p.m. Thursday to 2 a.m. Friday.
