For the first time this season, Stone Memorial will have a chance to prove itself in a conference matchup. The Panthers will venture away from home to square off against the Livingston Academy Wildcats at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Stone Memorial has struggled recently with four defeats in a row, while Livingston Academy will arrive with five straight victories.
Stone Memorial fell victim to Macon County and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tigers. The game marked the first time this season in which the Panthers were not able to get on the board.
Meanwhile, Livingston Academy hadn’t done well against Monterey recently (2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but it didn’t let the past get in its way on Thursday. Livingston Academy walked away with a 6-2 win over Monterey.
Livingston Academy’s victory bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Stone Memorial, it drops to 1-6.
Stone Memorial beat Livingston Academy 5-2 in their previous meeting back in April of 2025. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the team won’t have the home-field advantage this time around.
