Callie Holland, the daughter of Doug and Tricia Holland, was named the February Junior High School Student of the Month. She is a seventh grader.
Her teachers nominated her because she works hard daily, isn’t afraid to tackle new, hard concepts, and is a standout among her peers. She also shows kindness, and has a good attitude. Her teachers also have seen a lot of growth in her this year.
She participates in basketball, softball, volleyball, club volleyball and travel softball. Her favorite subject is reading because her teacher is fun and it isn’t too hard. Her favorite school experience has been any of the field trips, because she gets to spend time with her friends.
In her free time, she likes to watch TV or hang out with friends.
When she graduates she wants to go to college.
Melanie Probst, the daughter of Jesse and Theresa Probst, was named the February High School Student of the Month. She is a junior.
Her teachers nominated her because she is kind, polite and hardworking. She is always on-task and completes all of her work to the best of her ability. She goes out of her way to help other students and teachers. She is involved in Student Council, Business Club, Language Club, WYSE Club, LEO Club, PTSA, National Honor Society, and is a Strasburg Volunteer Junior Firefighter. Her favorite subject is math because she likes to work with numbers. Some of her favorite memories in school come from English Class in junior high with Mrs. Hill, and a lot of new memories are being made in Mr. Hansen’s Spanish Class.
In her free time, she likes to hang out with family and friends and read.
In the future, she hopes to attend a good college and go into a career in finance.
